Plants have needs too! Ecological, Inc. has taken a unique and innovative stand towards plant health in ponds and water gardens. Pond plants shouldn't have to be fertilized! They should take their fertilizer directly from fish waste.
With a little help from Microbe-Lift products plants are better able to draw neccessary nutrients from the water, so your plants are sure to show improved performance.
The Aquatic Planting Medium is one of the finest developments for plant anchorage and root development due to the soilless properties guaranteed not to add to the organic load in the pond. It has the added convenience of nitrifying bacteria already in it, so plants have a healthier head start. In ponds with koi, this is especially important considering their propensity for knocking over plants.
The other products for plants, Ensure and Bloom & Grow DO NOT add nitrogen and phosphates to the pond, therefore will benefit the plants without adding to other pond problems. Their purpose is to stimulate root growth and development which in turn will enable them to remove more of these nutrients from the water!
